If the only tool you have is a hammer, you tend to see every problem as a nail.
~Abraham Maslow
************************************************
When we can move away, or detach from our problems, it's easier to see that often we are using inappropriate tools to solve our problems. But it can be difficult to detach when we are hooked into a situation.
Maintaining a balanced view isn't possible when our nose is pressed right up against our problem. We indulge in crisis thinking and crisis thinking, like a hammer, flattens everything.
We can resolve to remember that every problem is an opportunity for growth and we will search for tools suited for our growth.
